We are proud to announce the recent recipients for the “2015 – Coaches and Volunteer of The Year Award.”

The First Tee of The Palm Beaches – Rick Hengstenberg
The First Tee of The Treasure Coast – Jim Delarme
The First Tee of Broward – Dustin Stearn
The First Tee of The Palm Beaches ‘Volunteer of the Year’ – Joel Zanville

Each Coach and volunteer will receive a plaque and a $200 gift card.

These Coaches and Volunteer have been chosen because they have demonstrated chapter leading dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism and have met our Coaches’ objectives to be a successful Coach. We are lucky to have them!

Once you enter into The First Tee coach program at Level I, you must submit your post training documents within one year of training to remain an active coach. You continue to move through the coach program either by attending the next level of training, or completing annual reassessments. Not completing annual reassessments at a minimum will result in an inactive coach status.

Many of you received a follow-up training email from Home Office a few months ago and from myself last month. Please complete your training requirements as soon as possible. We are here to help! The chart below will help you to understand steps to follow to complete your training level.

*Training spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All registration steps must be completed and payment must be submitted in order to secure your spot.

*If a training does not reach a minimum of 18 registrants, The First Tee home office may cancel the event. If you are signed up to attend a coach training, please DO NOT book travel until you hear from a home office staff member confirming the training event.

Our Coach Meetings are an important gathering to share ideas, discuss challenges and prepare for the upcoming months. Please try and attend. We all learn more when you are there!

* 2016 College Golf Prep Academy (formerly PLAYer Advanced Academy) July 20 – 27 in Reno, NV.

Coaching at an academy is a great opportunity to work with, and learn from coaches, participants and home office staff. CLICK HERE for applications and apply now on the website.

Many of our Coaches have attended in the past. There are no out of pocket costs to you and it is a great trip!

We are responsible for tracking and reporting participant data in The First Tee participant database for Home Office.

After every 9 week class session every Coach needs to submit a completed database form. Please send in your participant names throughout the year.

Through consistent tracking, this assists our Chapter to measure the relevance and impact of programs and monitor trends. If you need the database form, please let me know.

Now is the time to have your students (open to boys and girls ages 7-15) sign up for the 2017 DRIVE, CHIP AND PUTT.

We are very proud to announce that Shawn Tyson from The First Tee of The Palm Beaches was selected to go to Augusta National in 2016.
